The first ever Verbattle (acronym of Verbal Battle), for school students was held in December 2005, for a period of one month.

Verbattle 2006 was sponsored by Britannia Tiger biscuits.

Verbattle, since, has is an annual event, conducted in the first quarter of every academic year.

Verbattle is a debate platform for children and youth.

The debates are conducted by well-known television host Deepak Thimaya.

Hereafter, Verbattle for School children will be called Verbattle Junior and for college students will be called, Verbattle Senior
After the success of Verbattle Junior for two years, henceforth TV House will be conducting Verbattle Senior for College Students along with Verbattle Junior for School Students.
The first Verbatte Senior will be held on 1st February to 11th February 2007.
The aims of Verbattle:
Verbattle encourages vibrant minds to think freely, process thoughts aptly, convert them into simple language and present arguments logically; with clarity in speech, a highly acceptable accent, audible voice and corresponding gestures along with authentic facts and resource gathered out of serious research.
Verbattle has the patronage of writers, philosophers, politicians and experts in governance and public issues.
Verbattle Concept
Verbattle Senior is a large scale state level event, open to college going youth in the age group of 16 to 24 years.
College going youth means a youth studying any institute of higher learning with classes about tenth/matriculation or equal, recognized by the Govt. of Karnataka / Govt. of India
This is a unique intellectual experience for youth , where they get to participate in or get exposed to a branded talent event of an unparalleled proportion. The purpose of the event is to inspire and motivate youth to develop the art of debating.
The slogan of Vebattle Senior is Creating Leaders.
It is an event which will leave behind charged memories in the young minds , and a goodwill for the supporting BRANDS, Sponsors and Associates.
Importance of Debate

Debating is considered essential in a healthy society.

In a democracy, nurturing debating skills among youth, should be of utmost priority; since debating not only develops the ability to defend but also it courage to differ.

Debates keep a vibrant democracy, healthy.

Debating helps the youth to learn to see the same thing in different perspectives. Thus, Verbattle is the biggest and the best intellectual platform for youth , and is also an engine towards a better future for the nation.

Hundreds of teams participated in the first year and Bishop Cotton Girls School, Bangalore won the first prize of Rs. 1 lakh cash + a lot of other attractive prizes
St. Agnes Girls School, Mangalore & Pavan English High School, Dharwad won the finalist prizes.
