For this level, the debate topics are not provided. But, the 3 subjects are listed. So, all the 3 selected teams must be well versed, knowledgeable in all these subjects.
When the process begin, Team "A" will propose a Statement and would invite Team "B" and Team "C" to either argue in favour off or against the statement. The other 2 teams will have not more than 10 minutes to prepare for or against purely as per their own discretion. There may be a freak situation; all the 3 teams may end up arguing for the statement. But then the Judges would look for who argued the best favour, considering that the proposed team had an advantage of 2 hours to prepare, whereas the other teams had only not more than 10 minutes.
When the debate begins, the proposing team makes the proposing argument for 2 minutes and the responding team gets 1 minute. Thereafter there will be 4 rounds of argument of 1 minute each per participant.
After the argument rounds are closed, there are 3 more rounds. 1 Audience Round where audience ask question. One member of audience asks a question to a team and likewise all the teams get one audience question. Then the next round is Teacher's round, where the Escorting Teacher / Guardian asks the question to an opponent team. In the 3rd round Judges ask questions.
The winner team is decided by consensus after deliberating between the judges.
